Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary African Art, which included the work Nelson Mandlate; Untitled (The Price of Cement); Untitled (Single Sense) by Mário Macilau. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,062.50 (€ 5,621.47). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mário Macilau - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cercle De Mémoires, which sold at auction in June 2021 for EUR 19,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nelson Mandlate; Untitled (The Price of Cement); Untitled (Single Sense) von Mário Macilau zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.062,50 (€ 5.621,47) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mário Macilau mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cercle De Mémoires beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für EUR 19.500,00 versteigert wurde.
