Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary African Art, which included the work Deus Abonçoe Meu Filho, 2015 by Mário Macilau. The price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,400.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mário Macilau - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cercle De Mémoires, which sold at auction in June 2021 for EUR 19,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Deus Abonçoe Meu Filho, 2015 von Mário Macilau zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.400,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mário Macilau mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cercle De Mémoires beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für EUR 19.500,00 versteigert wurde.
