Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Figuras en el palmar (also known as Under the Palm Trees) by Mario Carreño was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2020. Here, the upper estimate of USD 220,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 225,000.00 (€ 191,099.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mario Carreño achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cortadores De Caña in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 2,660,000.00 (€ 2,368,444.48).

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 220.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 225.000,00 (€ 191.099,03) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mario Carreño erzielen.
