This artwork by Marina Cruz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work When We Were Ten Years Old – Elisa And Laura (Diptych) sold for HKD 475,000.00 (€ 54,068.83) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Marina Cruz; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Blushed and Blemished sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of HKD 630,000.00 (€ 74,794.52).
