Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,803.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marie-Anne Fragonard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A young boy, full face in brown coat, brown shirt with white collar, fair hair, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,088.57).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of Jean Henri, Vicomte De Lage De Volude (1767-1795), When A Child, Circa 1770 von Marie-Anne Fragonard wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.803,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
