The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,613.94), 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marie-Anne Fragonard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A young boy, full face in brown coat, brown shirt with white collar, fair hair, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,088.57).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.613,94) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Marie-Anne Fragonard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A young boy, full face in brown coat, brown shirt with white collar, fair hair beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 8.225,00 (€ 13.088,57) versteigert wurde.
