This artwork by Marie-Anne Fragonard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2020. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Portrait of a young boy, circa 1785 sold for GBP 3,528.00 (€ 3,941.09) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marie-Anne Fragonard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A young boy, full face in brown coat, brown shirt with white collar, fair hair, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,088.57).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Marie-Anne Fragonard erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a young boy, circa 1785 für GBP 3.528,00 (€ 3.941,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Marie-Anne Fragonard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A young boy, full face in brown coat, brown shirt with white collar, fair hair beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 8.225,00 (€ 13.088,57) versteigert wurde.
