Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2004 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Spanish Pictures, which included the work Un Burro En Un Patio by Mariano Fortuny. The price achieved of GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,190.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mariano Fortuny achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spanish arabe Delante De Un Tapiz (Arab Before A Tapestry) in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 735,650.00 (€ 841,218.03).

Im November 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Spanish Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Un Burro En Un Patio von Mariano Fortuny zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.950,00 (€ 17.190,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mariano Fortuny erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spanish arabe Delante De Un Tapiz (Arab Before A Tapestry) im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 735.650,00 (€ 841.218,03).
