The price achieved of GBP 72,000.00 (€ 104,182.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mariano Fortuny have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spanish arabe Delante De Un Tapiz (Arab Before A Tapestry) in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 735,650.00 (€ 841,218.03).
