In April 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Bawah Pasopati Dago (Underneath Pasopati Dago) by Mariam Sofrina. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 52,500.00 (€ 5,914.91), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mariam Sofrina - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jalan Merdeka, which sold at auction in April 2019 for HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,228.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bawah Pasopati Dago (Underneath Pasopati Dago) von Mariam Sofrina zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 52.500,00 (€ 5.914,91) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Mariam Sofrina mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jalan Merdeka beobachtet, die im April 2019 für HKD 125.000,00 (€ 14.228,64) versteigert wurde.
