Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2001 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work The Pasture by Marguerite Thompson Zorach. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,400.00 (€ 10,452.57), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marguerite Thompson Zorach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Zorach Family in a Landscape and Floral Still Life: A Double-Sided Painting in May last year with an auction result of USD 214,200.00 (€ 199,608.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Pasture von Marguerite Thompson Zorach zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.400,00 (€ 10.452,57) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marguerite Thompson Zorach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Zorach Family in a Landscape and Floral Still Life: A Double-Sided Painting im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 199.608,61).
