Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work River Sunset, Winter by Margaret Thomas for GBP 470.00 (€ 758.39). This price was achieved in the auction 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Margaret Thomas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Through the Looking Glass in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,893.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit River Sunset, Winter von Margaret Thomas für GBP 470,00 (€ 758,39) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Margaret Thomas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Through the Looking Glass im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.893,20).
