In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work Poppies by Margaret Thomas. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,881.22), 47% above the upper estimate. Other works by Margaret Thomas have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,893.20) in October 2005 for the work Through the Looking Glass.
