Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2000 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Peacocks and Pheasant's Eye by Margaret Thomas. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 862.50 (€ 1,434.38), 23% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Margaret Thomas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Through the Looking Glass, which sold at auction in October 2005 for GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,893.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peacocks and Pheasant's Eye von Margaret Thomas zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 862,50 (€ 1.434,38) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Margaret Thomas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Through the Looking Glass beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.893,20) versteigert wurde.
