A top price for Margaret Mellis - as previously expected
The work Scarlet Undercurrent by Margaret Mellis was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2017. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,470.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Scarlet Undercurrent is the most expensive artwork by Margaret Mellis that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Scarlet Undercurrent von Margaret Mellis kam im Juni 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.470,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Scarlet Undercurrent das teuerste Kunstwerk von Margaret Mellis, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
