Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life with Flowers by Margaret Mellis was auctioned at Bonhams in London in September this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,680.00 (€ 7,680.00) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Margaret Mellis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scarlet Undercurrent, which sold at auction in June 2017 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,470.34).

Die Arbeit Still Life with Flowers von Margaret Mellis kam im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.680,00 (€ 7.680,00) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Margaret Mellis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scarlet Undercurrent beobachtet, die im Juni 2017 für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.470,34) versteigert wurde.
