Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Bonhams in London held the auction Blazing a TrailModern British Women, which included the work Small Imperial by Margaret Mellis. The price achieved of GBP 2,176.00 (€ 2,176.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret Mellis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scarlet Undercurrent in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,470.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women durch, in der auch die Arbeit Small Imperial von Margaret Mellis zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.176,00 (€ 2.176,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Margaret Mellis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scarlet Undercurrent im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.470,34).
