Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Three Boats VI: Chinese Orange Green Purple White by Margaret Mellis was auctioned at Bonhams in London in September this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,664.00 (€ 1,664.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret Mellis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scarlet Undercurrent in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,470.34).
