Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Half Circle And Shadows by Margaret Mellis was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 563.00 (€ 641.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret Mellis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scarlet Undercurrent in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,470.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Half Circle And Shadows von Margaret Mellis kam im März 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 563,00 (€ 641,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Margaret Mellis erzielen.
