Auction result misses estimated price range
In March this year a collector was able to acquire the work Wild Seed by Marcus Brutus for HKD 88,900.00 (€ 10,409.28). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale at Phillips in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marcus Brutus - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pannonica, which sold at auction in October 2021 for HKD 302,400.00 (€ 33,637.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Wild Seed von Marcus Brutus für HKD 88.900,00 (€ 10.409,28) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Marcus Brutus mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pannonica beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für HKD 302.400,00 (€ 33.637,81) versteigert wurde.
