Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mosaic Progression three by Marco Maggi was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,834.88). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marco Maggi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 31,250.00 (€ 29,542.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mosaic Progression three von Marco Maggi im November 2015 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.834,88) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Marco Maggi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 31.250,00 (€ 29.542,45) versteigert wurde.
