Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Le Dirigeable by Marcelle Cahn was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 35,000.00 – 45,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 27,500.00. Admittedly, works by Marcelle Cahn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Composition Abstraite in June 2011 with an auction result of EUR 168,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Le Dirigeable von Marcelle Cahn im Juni 2013 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 35.000,00 – 45.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 27.500,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marcelle Cahn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Composition Abstraite im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 168.750,00.
