The work Surrealist Composition by Marcel Jean was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art, Including Russian and Latin American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2011. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,491.36), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcel Jean achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La lune d'Eiffel in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 94,000.00 (€ 110,425.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Surrealist Composition von Marcel Jean wurde im März 2011 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art, Including Russian and Latin American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.491,36) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcel Jean erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La lune d'Eiffel im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 94.000,00 (€ 110.425,79).
