Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Dans La Prairie Au Dessus De La Mer (In The Meadow At The Top Of The Sea) by Marcel Jean for USD 1,000.00 (€ 896.94). This price was achieved in the auction The Sleep of Reason | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcel Jean achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La lune d'Eiffel in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 94,000.00 (€ 110,425.79).

Im Mai 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Dans La Prairie Au Dessus De La Mer (In The Meadow At The Top Of The Sea) von Marcel Jean für USD 1.000,00 (€ 896,94) erwerben.
