Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Painter of the Eiffel Tower, 1953 by Marc Riboud was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,400.00 (€ 1,794.53). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Riboud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 12 Photographs, 1950S-1980S in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 13,700.00 (€ 19,183.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Painter of the Eiffel Tower, 1953 von Marc Riboud im März 2007 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.400,00 (€ 1.794,53) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Riboud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 12 Photographs, 1950S-1980S im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.700,00 (€ 19.183,54).
