It achieved a price of HKD 1,875,000.00 (€ 228,481.28), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Marc Newson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Lockheed Lounge in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 1,568,750.00 (€ 1,788,682.07).

Die Arbeit Prototype 'Black Hole' table von Marc Newson wurde im November 2016 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Evening Sale bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 1.875.000,00 (€ 228.481,28) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marc Newson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Lockheed Lounge im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.568.750,00 (€ 1.788.682,07).
