Designed in 1992, this work is number five from the edition of ten, plus three
artist's proofs and one all-yellow example.
The unfinished prototype for this table, and another example from the edition, are in the collection of the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, Australia.
The “Event Horizon Table" will be included as “MN - 13EHTR-1992” in the forthcoming catalogue raisonne of limited editions by Marc Newson being prepared by Didier Krzentowski of Galerie kreo, Paris.

The work Event Horizon Table by Marc Newson was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2017. It achieved a price of GBP 187,500.00 (€ 213,786.70), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Marc Newson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Lockheed Lounge in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 1,568,750.00 (€ 1,788,682.07).

Die Arbeit Event Horizon Table von Marc Newson kam im Oktober 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 187.500,00 (€ 213.786,70) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marc Newson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Lockheed Lounge im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.568.750,00 (€ 1.788.682,07).
