Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sur La Plage by Marc Alfred Chataud was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,065.94). Admittedly, works by Marc Alfred Chataud have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Partie De Cartes Au Harem in June 2011 with an auction result of EUR 15,301.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sur La Plage von Marc Alfred Chataud im Dezember 2014 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.065,94) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marc Alfred Chataud auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Partie De Cartes Au Harem im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 15.301,00.
