Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction The European Art Sale Part II, which included the work Venetian Canal by Marc Aldine. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,304.67), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Marc Aldine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Venetian canal in March 2002 with an auction result of GBP 39,950.00 (€ 65,307.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The European Art Sale Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Venetian Canal von Marc Aldine zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.304,67) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marc Aldine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Venetian canal im März 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 39.950,00 (€ 65.307,73).
