This artwork by Marc Aldine achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in May last year. In the European Fine Living auction, the work Gondoliers on a Venetian canal sold for USD 10,837.50 (€ 10,099.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Marc Aldine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Venetian canal in March 2002 with an auction result of GBP 39,950.00 (€ 65,307.73).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Marc Aldine erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European Fine Living wurde die Arbeit Gondoliers on a Venetian canal für USD 10.837,50 (€ 10.099,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marc Aldine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Venetian canal im März 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 39.950,00 (€ 65.307,73).
