The work Portrait by Mao Yan was auctioned at Christies in Shanghai in October 2014. It achieved a price of CNY 400,000.00 (€ 52,226.66), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 60%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mao Yan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Standing Youth in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 9,440,000.00 (€ 1,063,557.38).

Die Arbeit Portrait von Mao Yan kam im Oktober 2014 bei Christies in Shanghai zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von CNY 400.000,00 (€ 52.226,66) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 60%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mao Yan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Standing Youth im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.440.000,00 (€ 1.063.557,38).
