In December 2020 Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale in Association with Poly Auction, which included the work Dou by Mao Yan. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 693,000.00 (€ 73,096.48), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mao Yan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Standing Youth in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 9,440,000.00 (€ 1,063,557.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale in Association with Poly Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dou von Mao Yan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 73.096,48) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mao Yan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Standing Youth im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.440.000,00 (€ 1.063.557,38).
