Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2011 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Seven-character Poem in Running Script Calligraphy by Mao Xiang. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 125,000.00 (€ 11,181.83). Admittedly, works by Mao Xiang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in Running Script in April last year with an auction result of HKD 819,000.00 (€ 99,023.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seven-character Poem in Running Script Calligraphy von Mao Xiang zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 125.000,00 (€ 11.181,83) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mao Xiang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 819.000,00 (€ 99.023,06).
