This artwork by Mao Xiang achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in October 2019. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy II auction, the work Calligraphy sold for HKD 365,800.00 (€ 41,810.40) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mao Xiang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy in Running Script, which sold at auction in April last year for HKD 819,000.00 (€ 99,023.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mao Xiang erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei POLY einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy II wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy für HKD 365.800,00 (€ 41.810,40) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mao Xiang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für HKD 819.000,00 (€ 99.023,06) versteigert wurde.
