This price was achieved in the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 160,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Calligraphy in Running Script the most expensive artwork by Mao Xiang that we have observed at auctions so far.
