Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seven-character Poem in Cursive Script by Mao Xiang was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 112,500.00 (€ 11,719.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Mao Xiang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in Running Script in April last year with an auction result of HKD 819,000.00 (€ 99,023.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seven-character Poem in Cursive Script von Mao Xiang kam im Mai 2012 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 11.719,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mao Xiang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 819.000,00 (€ 99.023,06).
