Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Manuel Hernández Mompó achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Madrid in October 2004. In the ARTE ESPANOL auction, the work Alaró sold for EUR 31,070.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Manuel Hernández Mompó; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Mercado sold at auction in October 2006 with the realized price of EUR 60,000.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Manuel Hernández Mompó erzielte im Oktober 2004 bei Christies in Madrid einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion ARTE ESPANOL wurde die Arbeit Alaró für EUR 31.070,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 15.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Manuel Hernández Mompó; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Mercado im Oktober 2006 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 60.000,00.
