MANOLO VALDÉS (B. 1942) Eva I, lI & IIl three etchings with collage in colours, 1993, on handmade paper with a beige wash, each signed and titled in pencil, numbered 39/51, 33/51 and AP lll/lV respectively , the latter an artist's proof aside from the edition of 51, published by Marlborough Graphics, New York Image & Sheet 1640 x 650 mm. Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Eva I, lI & IIl by Manolo Valdés was auctioned at Christies in London in March this year. The price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,467.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Manolo Valdés achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Infanta Margarita in February 2011 with an auction result of GBP 457,250.00 (€ 538,602.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Eva I, lI & IIl von Manolo Valdés kam im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.467,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Manolo Valdés erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Infanta Margarita im Februar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 457.250,00 (€ 538.602,24).
