The work 'The Picador' by Malvina Hoffman was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in March 2006. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,600.00 (€ 7,908.39), 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Malvina Hoffman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'La Frileuse' in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 53,775.00 (€ 51,287.55).

Die Arbeit 'The Picador' von Malvina Hoffman wurde im März 2006 in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.600,00 (€ 7.908,39) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Malvina Hoffman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'La Frileuse' im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 53.775,00 (€ 51.287,55).
