Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Interior with a young Italian boy fixing an umbrella by Malthe Engelsted was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 10,500.00 (€ 1,406.89). Other works by Malthe Engelsted have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2002 by the work Afternoon frolics at GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,759.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Interior with a young Italian boy fixing an umbrella von Malthe Engelsted im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 10.500,00 (€ 1.406,89) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Malthe Engelsted wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2002 die Arbeit Afternoon frolics mit GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.759,98).
