Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale), which included the work Girls Don't Cry & Edible Artificial Girls, Mi-Mi Chan by Makoto Aida. The price achieved of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 17,377.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Makoto Aida achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work ZAKU- (War Picture Returns- Side B) in November 2009 with an auction result of HKD 2,900,000.00 (€ 249,499.80).
