Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Christies in London held the auction Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Women at a Public Shower by Mahmoud Sabri. The price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 70,480.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mahmoud Sabri achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grief in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 668,750.00 (€ 762,505.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Women at a Public Shower von Mahmoud Sabri zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 70.480,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mahmoud Sabri erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grief im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 668.750,00 (€ 762.505,90).
