Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mahmoud Sabri achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2020. In the 20th Century Art / Middle East auction, the work A Family Of Farmers sold for GBP 300,000.00 (€ 338,761.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mahmoud Sabri - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grief, which sold at auction in October 2017 for GBP 668,750.00 (€ 762,505.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mahmoud Sabri erzielte im März 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East wurde die Arbeit A Family Of Farmers für GBP 300.000,00 (€ 338.761,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mahmoud Sabri mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grief beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für GBP 668.750,00 (€ 762.505,90) versteigert wurde.
