Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mahmoud Sabri achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in March 2017. In the Dubai: Modern and Contemporary Art auction, the work The Hero sold for USD 547,500.00 (€ 511,777.90) - well above the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mahmoud Sabri; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Grief sold at auction in October 2017 with the realized price of GBP 668,750.00 (€ 762,505.90).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mahmoud Sabri erzielte im März 2017 bei Christies in Dubai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Mahmoud Sabri; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Grief im Oktober 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 668.750,00 (€ 762.505,90).
