Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art, which included the work Fellah's Head by Mahmoud Moussa. The price achieved of GBP 5,100.00 (€ 5,999.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mahmoud Moussa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Egyptian Woman in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 46,093.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fellah's Head von Mahmoud Moussa zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.100,00 (€ 5.999,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mahmoud Moussa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Egyptian Woman im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 46.093,06).
