This price was achieved in the auction The India Sale at Christies in Mumbai and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of INR 350,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mahadev Viswanath Dhurandhar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Twenty Watercolours Depicting Scenes Of Bombay, which sold at auction in October 2017 for GBP 87,500.00 (€ 99,767.13).
