In June this year Bonhams in Paris held the auction India in Art, which included the work Two drawings: A Maratha warrior with a tutari, or chieftain's horn; a girl carrying a matka, the first dated 1910 by Mahadev Viswanath Dhurandhar. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,096.00 (€ 4,767.04), 37% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mahadev Viswanath Dhurandhar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Twenty Watercolours Depicting Scenes Of Bombay in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 99,767.13).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen

Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion India in Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two drawings: A Maratha warrior with a tutari, or chieftain's horn; a girl carrying a matka, the first dated 1910 von Mahadev Viswanath Dhurandhar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.096,00 (€ 4.767,04) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mahadev Viswanath Dhurandhar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Twenty Watercolours Depicting Scenes Of Bombay im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 99.767,13).
