Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Two Clowns by Maggi Hambling. It changed hands for a price of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,120.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maggi Hambling achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cascading Wave in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,721.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Clowns von Maggi Hambling zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 960,00 (€ 1.120,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maggi Hambling erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cascading Wave im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 37.721,77).
