The work Sunrise, Orwell Estuary by Maggi Hambling was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in March this year. It achieved a price of GBP 1,912.50 (€ 2,175.84), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 59%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maggi Hambling achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cascading Wave in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,721.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sunrise, Orwell Estuary von Maggi Hambling wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.912,50 (€ 2.175,84) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 59%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maggi Hambling erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cascading Wave im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 37.721,77).
