Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Maggi Hambling could be acquired at Christies in London in January 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern British Art Day Sale auction, the work The Mirror Bar changed hands for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,868.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maggi Hambling - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cascading Wave, which sold at auction in March 2019 for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,721.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Maggi Hambling konnte im Januar 2020 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit The Mirror Bar für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.868,61) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Maggi Hambling mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cascading Wave beobachtet, die im März 2019 für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 37.721,77) versteigert wurde.
